Kindness Calendar

Challenge students to practice "14 Days of Kindness"!

Activity Partner
Total time estimate:
Multi-day
Activity Objectives
  • Students will complete a challenge to practice kindness to themselves, others, and the world, and understand the impact of their actions
  • Then, students will reflect on how people can care for each other to build positive relationships and cultivate their collective wellbeing

This activity supports the development of the following
social-emotional skills: self-awareness, social awareness, relationship skills, responsible decision-making, and self-management.

Introduce

Discuss the three types of kindness with students: to ourselves, others, and the world around us. For example:

  • Kindness to ourselves: being patient and compassionate with ourselves, recognizing what we need, and taking care of ourselves
  • Kindness to others: treating others with respect and care, having an open mind about them, and recognizing and appreciating differences
  • Kindness to the world: being aware of how our actions affect the environment, and taking steps to protect and restore nature
Challenge

Inspire your students to practice all three types of kindness with a "14 Days of Kindness" challenge. Use the calendar below, or create your own!

Reflect

Guide students through a post-activity reflection by asking the following questions:

  • Which act of kindness was the most difficult for you? Which one was the easiest? Why?
  • How did you demonstrate care and concern for yourself? For others?
  • How did you feel during this experience?
  • What did you learn from this challenge?
  • What are other ways that you want to practice kindness in the future?
Did you finish this activity? We'd love your input.
